Cat5 RS232 Extender is a low cost hardware solution. It provides remote access and control of any RS232 protocol device. This device extends your RS232 control to 1000 meters (3300feet). It consists of 2 units, local and remote. The local unit sits next to your computer and the remote unit sits next to your RS232 device. The local unit is powered by a 5-volt power supply, which also powers the remote side. The supplied RS-232 cable connects the computer to the RS-232 extender local unit. It is a perfect solution for applications, like transferring data or files between PCs
