USB 2.0 extender allows the transmission of the new USB 2.0 protocol via inexpensive Cat5 or Cat6 UTP cabling. USB extender 2.0 also supports USB 1.1 (low-speed, full-speed) and USB 2.0 high-speed devices operating at up to 480 Mb/s. USB 2.0 extender consists of a transmitter and receiver that are interconnected by the UTP cable which allows data to be transferred at distances that reach up to 50 meters. These USB 2.0 extender units are plug and play and work with all major operating systems. The USB extender 2.0 is available in a point to point version (1 port) or a 4 port model.
