Firewire Fiber Optic Extender
The Firewire fiber extender allows you to transmit a Firewire signal up to 1,000m (3,280ft) using 50/125um multimode fiber cable or 500m (1,640ft) using 62.5/125um multimode fiber optic cable exceeding the standard 4.5m length of IEEE 1394 cables. Firewire fiber optic extender consists of a transmitter that is connected to the firewire source and a receiver that is connected to the peripheral device, such as a camera. The firewire fiber extender complies with both 1394a and 1394b standards and works with 1394b at speeds of 400/200/100 Mbps, and with 1394a at speeds of 400/200/100 Mbps. Firewire extender is plug and play and requires no drivers or software for installation. The firewire fiber optic extender is a perfect solution for a wide range of applications involving camcorders, printers, digital cameras, surveillance and security.
