USB 2.0 fiber extender consists of a transmitter and a receiver that sends any USB signal distances up to 1640 feet away with multimode optical fiber and up to 10km using singlemode optical fiber cable, both at up to 480 Mb/s. USB 2.0 fiber extender achievements are made possible by the patented ExtremeUSB technology of the USB 2.0 Ranger 442 and USB 2.0 Ranger 444 products and present a significant milestone in the fiber USB 2.0 extender market. The USB 2.0 Ranger 442 and the USB 2.0 Ranger 444 are four port, Class A devices which extends host computers and peripheral connections with USB 2.0 extender fiber. Conventional USB cables are used to connect the USB 2.0 fiber extender transmitter to the host computer and to connect one or more remote USB devices to the receiver unit.
